General Mills Cereal Review

Have you ever heard that saying, "breakfast is the most important meal of the day"? Well as a mom I believe this saying is very true. I received 4 coupons from General Mills for any free General Mills cereal under $6. I would have done a giveaway with a couple of the coupons but they expired 4 days after is got them. I was still very happy to get my coupons. I, my husband, and my daughter picked out the following General Mills cereals:

1. Cocoa Puffs - In the last couple of years I have noticed a change in taste. I believe it is because General Mills has been working on making their cereals more healthy for the public and I am very happy about this. Cocoa Puffs are still very chocolately and yummy regardless of the change in taste. My daughter and husband still love this cereal. View Cocoa Puffs  nutrition facts here.

2. Cookie Crisps - My daughter picked this cereal out. She loves cookies. She loves this cereal. She eats it dry in the morning and drinks her milk in her sippy. It is her favorite cereal. View Cookie Crisps nutrition facts here.

3. Lucky Charms - I love this cereal because their marshmallows melt in your mouth. They also sweeten your cereal. It has been a childhood favorite of mine. This cereal makes breakfast fun because hunting for the marshmallows is like a treasure hunt. Now I eat Lucky Charms and my daughter steals my marshmallows while I eat my cereal. 4. Trix -  Has a citrus fruity taste. It has bright bold colors that kidsfind fun. I love Trix. My daughter also likes Trix. She eats them for a snack. The taste has not changed so much since General Mills has made their cereals healthier. View Trix nutrition facts here.

General Mills announced a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals advertised to kids under 12 to single digit grams of sugar per serving. The company has already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key
nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain. You can read more on General Mills and their cereals here.

Many studies have shown there are many benefits to eating ready to eat cereal for breakfast. Ready to eat cereal eaters consume less fat, consume less sugar, consume less cholesterol, consume more fiber and consume more grains for a healthy diet. They also tend to avoid being an obesity statistic.

Studies have also shown that adults and kids who eat breakfast verses skipping breakfast tend to do better in their everyday lives. Breakfast eating kids have proven to do better in school and stay out of trouble more often then verses the kids who skip breakfast. Breakfast eating adults tend to be more productive at work and have better days then verses adults who skip breakfast.
